If you hadnt heard, we had an earthquake here yesterday and was without power for 15 hours yesterday.... so here's what happened.
around 7:15 yesterday morning, mom and I already had my shower and we were sitting on the bed reading, talking and watching a little tv while christy took her shower. All of a sudden the building began to shake a little and I looked at mom... eyebrows raised... "earthquake?" and she said yes, I think so! we got up to go look outside and as we passed the bathroom, christy said, "Are we having an earthquake?" Mom said yes and then the power went out. Then it came back on... back off.... back on then off for good. Me not thinking... Christy is in te bathroom in the dark... mom kindly opens the door so she can see! I didnt even think about that... HA!
Well as you can imagine we kind of waited to see if it would come back on and NOOOOOO it had to stay off all freaking day. We are on the 15th floor of our tower so that meant we had to walk down the stairs to find food cause we hadnt had breakfast yet. The line at the ABC store was about 45 minutes, thank goodness they opened for people to get what they needed. We got pepsi and coke (gotta have our caffene!) sandwiches, chips, cookies etc to keep us happy. We then walked back UP the 15 flights of stairs. Ate our lunch, cookies, hohos, and drank 1/2 our softdrinks... figured we earned it walking up and down those damn stairs.
We sat and talked, read, napped etc most of the day... talked to the people a lot on either side of us... one couple is from Ireland... here on their honeymoon, they laughed and said they could now honestly say that the earth moved on their honeymoon! The couple on the other side is from Cumings, GA and before that Houston. So we talked with them a while. They were really nice.
Eventually they got one elevator working in each building so we rode down and went straight to the bar... Christy and mom had tequilla sunrise and I had a Mai Tai. We went for a mile or so walk down the beach and back, went BACK to the bar and had a drink called a Hoola Girl... OMG it had over 3 shots of alcohol in it... Yummy but damn cant have to many of those thats for sure! We went and stood in line again for more food and when we went back to ride back up... ELEVATORS were back down again *grumble* ok so a kind security guard gave us a flashlight and we headed back up.
We ate our chips and salsa throughout the afternoon and evening so we didnt eat our lunchmeat/cheese/crackers we intended but hey... we are on vacation!
Anyway... we are heading down to breakfast shortly and then we are off to see SOMETHING... not sure what yet so stay tuned for more adventures of Ellen, Anna and Christy!

For those of you who remember Gilligans Island, this is the marina where they shot the opening sequence... Its the view out the front door of our room...

There were so many flowers around the propert I thought I'd snap one or two of the orchids.

This is a picture from our Balcony!
