Welcome to my world

I probably should have named this Derek's Mom's Page or Kenny's Wife's page but hey! I have to have a bit of my own identity dont I?

I have to say this could be cool, provided I remember to keep it updated! I hope to keep you entertained on all of the trips I make and maybe an interesting fact or two about the cities, clubs or areas that I go to.

Ive had some great trips lately. In September I went to Pinehurst in NC, Palm Springs (thank goodness it finally cooled off, since I thought my brain was going to cook in my skull this summer when it was 114 on my car thermometer,) San Diego and LA. In October so far Ive been to the Homestead in Hot Springs, VA as well as PA-HO-NIX (I loved that commercial) this week.

I will do my best to post some pictures from Hot Springs because the leaves were changing there and it was breathtaking. I also took the time to do something I'd read about a year ago and finally had the opportunity! At the Homestead they have only 1 of 4 Falconry programs left in the world where you get to interact with the birds of prey. The Falcon I got to hold, Her name was Lexi, the red tail hawk and the european horned owl , her name was Delilah, were all magnificent! I'll try to get those pictures up as well! We got to watch the hawk in action so to speak, by having her fly just over our heads where her wings brushed our hair or fly between us when we were standing only 6" apart!

Derek is doing well. He is busy with athletics - cross country JV team and with Band. He is the 5th base drum and happy as a lark right now I think. I'll post some pictures from the Crowley Drumline Competition where they came in 2nd out of 9 schools! He wasnt happy that it wasnt first but I thought they did great and had a lot to be proud of!

They will be competing at UTA this weekend, Denton next weekend and Northwest ISD in November. If you want to attend, shoot me an email and I'll let you know times etc!

Ok I think this is enough for my first post and I hope to update it at least once a week!

Am glad you are doing this, since you get to go to such great places. Danny was especially attentive when I read him the piece about the falcons, he has always wanted to own one and get his falonery license.
Have a great time in Hawaii, am very envious!!
