With 4 years or so of full time travel, Ive been stranded somewhere! With all of the weather in Dallas... you know the story if you either live there or watch any kind of news. My flight out of Orange County, CA was cancelled last night. Problem was there were only 3 available seats all day today out of SNA. I think Im blessed because normally you have to wait until your flight is cancelled before they will put you on another flight but.... after talking to our travel department, I LOVE JIM, he told me to see if an agent could tell me about seats out of any of the So Cal airports. I was in the admirals club and I told the agent in there that while I knew she wasnt psychic and that I knew she wouldnt know (at that time) if the flight would cancel, I HAD to be home by today because we were flying to Puerto Vallarta on Friday morning. Laughing I told her if I didnt get out today that they would be flying me to PV from here and that my husband would be packing my bag... not such a good thing. She actually backed me up on a flight this morning (one of the 3 seats open the whole day) so that IF it did cancel I'd be able to get home. An hour and a half later, the flight indeed did cancel and I was already good to go! She even put me in an exit row that reclines on the window so I'll be comfortable much more than the original middle seat I had last night.
Anyway, mom and dad are on their way back from Hot Springs as I type here with my new toy! They should get home around the same time I am so maybe, just maybe I'll get to drive it before Derek does.
Lets hope this is the end of my drama and I get home without any other issues and I'll get to my luggage somewhat easily, as it flew out at 2:00 yesterday but didnt land in Dallas until 10:45 pm last night. Im almost glad I didnt get on that plane yesterday! I at least got to rest in a hotel room instead of sitting in an airplane seat for 6.5 hours!
Cheers and here is to none of us getting Montezuma's revenge while we are in Mexico!
