Is Too Busy an Excuse?

Well thats the one Im going to use as my reason for not posting lately. August has seen a semi normal return to my schedule and a very busy month for Derek. The last few days of July and the entire month of August he had marching practice for a minimum of 7 hours a day and as much as 12 Monday - Friday. I think he was actually glad school started on Monday!

I on the other hand, and im not complaining here, enjoyed sleeping until 7 am most days since last December. However now that school has started, its back to getting up at 5:15 am to get Derek up and moving and out of the house by 5:45. Since he cant drive himself all the way to school from the house I drive him to Boyd where he gets in his truck and drives the rest of the way. It relieves Dad from having to do that for the past 3 years since Kenny and I got married.

I now have to figure out where Im going to find time to work out and Im certainly not giving up! I know I can work out every Saturday and Sunday morning and definitely on Tuesday mornings since Derek stays at his dads on Monday nights because band doesnt get out till 8:30 pm. We still have to work out our Monday mornings because if he drives himself home on Friday or Saturday, we have to figure out a time to drive his truck back out there or he drives himself on Monday mornings only. Will see how it all goes on that front. Anyway, I'll continue to work out even if I have to fit in an afternoon here and there. To date, Ive now lost over 30 lbs! YAY. In fact here is a picture of me that was taken about a month ago for something here at work!













For me, Ive been all over the place literally in the month of August. I went to Boston and Washington DC one week, Milwaukee for a couple of days the next week, San Francisco and Cleveland last week.. WOW that week was a LOT of flying! This week I was able to stay home all week but tomorrow Kenny and I are flying down to meet Mom and Dad in Houston to then drive on to Kemah. A first for all of us! My friend Angela her daughter, my god daughter, and her Mom are going to meet us down there too! My hope is that my other friend Erin will also go along for the weekend. Should be a great trip for everyone.

Not much else has been going on really and as you can tell not much more we could have fit into the schedule and kept ourselves sane.

Im sure we will take pictures on vacation and if I keep doing as good as I have been, dont hold your breath, I'll have pictures to link up in my next post!
