Have I been a bad influence on my son?

As you know I keep myself pretty busy.... Working full time with ClubCorp, part time at UNT as a teaching assistant and now as a part time professor this semester too. So yeah, I keep pretty busy... I always felt that by doing this, I show my son you can work hard and still have a decent quality of life, accomplishing a lot.

Well now as I may have mentioned Derek is in the Winter Drumline (first for his school ever this year) and he is running track, doing long distance. Well now he went and also joined the soccer team today. He's still running track, the coach told him the soccer practice will serve as his track practice thank goodness. They lost their one extra player on the soccer team and this coach has been trying to get him to join the team since last year when he found out that he'd played 10 seasons of soccer when he was younger. He joined today and will be playing in a game tomorrow night at 8. LONG day for him. I told him to go to his Dad's after school and rest well before the game.

I told Derek on the way home.... "SON, just because I keep my life really crazy and hectic, YOU dont have to do it too..." he just laughed and said Yeah.

So lets hope this doesnt wipe him out since he has early band practice on Monday's and Tuesdays, and late band practice on Thursdays. Soccer/Track practice every day after school for an hour to an hour and a half.... I asked him "Do you have homework tonight?" he said No thank goodness I dont! LOL
