BOO!

I know that just scared the crap out of you didnt I? Well tomorrow is one of my very favorite holidays of the year, and not JUST because it is Derek's birthday. He will be 16! *sigh and a little tear*

This past weekend was beautiful. Sometimes I wish the weather would be like that year round but then I remember I like to swim so it has to get HOT some now doesnt it?

I know I keep promising to upload pictures from hawaii but that means I have to get my poop in a group and while I've gotten the pictures off my camera they are still on my computer at home and not WITH me when Im updating the blog. HOWEVER Mom did get some picture website uploaded with HER pictures if you wanna see some of what we saw.

Derek ran varsity cross country again at two meets last week and in the 4 meets he has ran, he has improved his 3 mile speed about 1 minute from 19.46 to 18.40. So Im really proud of him on that front.

This week after we celebrate Derek's birthday tomorrow evening, I am headed off to Colorado! Im flying to Denver and driving to Carbondale/Glenwood Springs. My hope is that the roads will be clear for this flat lander to pass safely. I also hope to take my camera so I can be a tourist and stop to take pictures as I pass through the mountains.

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving... already thinking about and planning what our menu will be. I think we will add a bit of texas flair this time around and do Baked and Fried Turkey but instead of Ham, have Dad smoke a brisket! One of these days Im going to have him show me how to do that! Then maybe I can try doing my baby back ribs that way too! MMMM mighty good! That may be the next thing I ask for as a gift... A goood smoker. Its that or one of those Roomba's the automatic floor sweeper. Anyone know if those things work? I saw where they have the one that mops now too! You know me... Kitchen gadgets are my thing. I need a bigger kitchen!
