It was made apparent on Thanksgiving that I hadnt posted any pictures nor had I updated my blog.
So lets see, whats been going on the last three weeks? 8 or 9 people here at work (mostly executives and their AA's) have been laid off or will be once the sale of our company is final. I have a feeling they arent done yet and I can only hope they want to keep me!
Our thanksgiving was wonderful, we had a great time and as always there was plenty of food left over. Not for a lack of trying on everyone's part to eat as much as possible. We did finally start counting how many cookies that Kenny's grandmother was eating... I think she ate at least 7 and not sure how many mini pumpkin pies... was cute!
I realize I havent posted since the final marching contest for Derek's band so here are some pictures from their group. While they placed 7th out of 10... (not being biased here but they got screwed) because they by far, had the hardest performance of all the bands!
On a seperate note, Im having surgery this Friday Dec 1 so my blogs for the next 6 weeks may be really boring and be comprised of mundane things such as movies watched, games played on the PSP and what happend on Days of Our Lives!
Derek and I lost our minds and decided to do the "day after thanksgiving" shopping thing. We headed out at Midnight (I hadnt slept and Derek only got 45 mins of sleep) and went and stood in line at Best Buy, chairs, blankets and Derek's IPod in hand. I was surpised that there were so many people in line when we got there at 12! We were probably 75 or 80 people back in line!
We sat for an hour or so... got bored.. stood... sat some more... we finally started messing around, talking etc to stay awake. One group behind us in line came for about an hour and a half without having looked at an ad. Once they did they decided the sales werent good enough and left. Odd but what ever!
At 3:30 the line started moving up taking up the spaces that had been all spread out for big chairs, tents and such from the die hard shoppers. When the line moved some guy came walking from the parking lot and tried to get in line in front of us! The NERVE! I was like "DUDE I dont know what you are doing but you need to go to the back of the line." He said "Ive been here all night" I told him NOT HERE YOU HAVENT! He mumbled something about finding his "pack of friends" and tried to get in line behind us... the people back there did the same thing. He finally left but BOY did that piss me off! hehehehe
Anyway, we got 2 vouchers for "items" we wanted but didnt get some that we did (not saying what cause its xmas presents.) We left there, drove by Circuit City to check out their lines and voucher status... All was good there for what we wanted so we left and went to IHOP for breakfast and WARMTH! We went back to Circuit City and got Derek's XBOX 360 but stood in line for 2 hours to check out... OMG I was so tired by that point and we saw the idiot we saw in line at Best Buy... I wanted to walk over and get in line in front of him! hehehehe
We finally got out of that disorganized mess that was C.C. (they only had 1/2 the check out lines open... go figure the stupidity of that move!) and headed back to Best Buy and low and behold NO LINES so we got the 2 items we wanted and were out of there in less than 10 minutes.
We went home and promply fell asleep (Derek in his bed and I made it as far as the couch.)
Later in the day we hit Linens and things and got me a Scuba (brother to the roomba) and it works like magic... it sweeps and mops the hard floors and I didnt even have to be there! WOOO HOOO!!!! Boy am I happy with that little invention. Will come in handy over the next month and a half while I recover from surgery!
Ok here come the pictures from Aledo Marching Contest
